Fellowship in RGHF
RGHF Leaders Staff Booth at D 3170, Zone 05 Conference

Rotary International District 3170 - 51st District Conference
The 'Brighter than Gold' Conference was held from 5th to 7th February at Panaji, Goa.

RGHF got an opportunity to use the Registration Booth on the second and third day. Rtn. S.N. Agrawal prepared two flex banners (we also had a computer arranged but unfortunately could not get an internet connection) and we kept some printed RGHF membership application forms for those who wished to pay in Indian Currency on the spot. Six new members joined RGHF at the venue itself and another four promised to join online after returning back home. Some more understood what RGHF was all about and many more went back noting details from the banner itself and would probably get in touch.

As it was difficult to man the booth at all times, we ensured that one of us was present there during all the breaks in between the sessions as the Rotarians would notice it and get an opportunity to know more about RGHF. The contact details of PDG Pranesh Jahagirdar, S.N. Agrawal and myself were printed on the banner for Rotarians to call when we were not present at the booth.

S.N. Agrawal really enjoyed explaining the need for every club to have at-least one serious RGHF member and the importance of knowing Rotary Global History.

The strategy we chose was to get a well located booth and got the best possible one, create awareness and try to enroll as many possible on the spot. We shall be repeating the same at the PETS as well as District Assembly in April and May which would probably yield better results as the Assembly is at Ichalkaranji (S.N.'s home club) and I would be have a session on 'Global Networking' during the assembly and am still trying to push for one in the PETS. I would have to cover many Fellowships and Action Groups, but RGHF would take the top slot by having the sheer advantage of numbers and a display booth outside. With RIPN Kalyan Banerjee coming to our District on 6th March and when PDG Pranesh presents him his RGHF Pin, many more will get motivated to join. If time permits we will have those new RGHF members joined this month to have the pleasure of getting their pin at the hands of RIPN Kalyan.

This strategy can be repeated and improvised at all events in all Districts provided each District has a Coordinator as it will not be possible to be done by the Zone Board member.
