Rotary Global History Fellowship Grants RGHF (Rotary Global History Fellowship) |
| 2009 8 June: Approval of Rotary Global Fellowship History Grants |
|
Proposed:
That RGHF
(Rotary Global History Fellowship) provide grants to deserving history
organizations that serve all of Rotary. That these grants be presented
annually at the Rotary International Convention and be called “Rotary Global
History Fellowship Grants.” Further that the first two grants of $1,000USD each be
presented to “The Paul and Jean Harris Home Foundation” and “The Paul Harris
Memorial Walkway. Further that these grants are to be presented at the “1905
Society” awards ceremony 4:30 PM Saturday 20 June 2009.
Discussion:
RGHF has
sufficient funds to present at least 1 or 2 awards for at least the next
several years. The RGHF Grants will enhance the value of our own individual
RGHF memberships, encourage our own RGHF membership renewals, encourage
donations to RGHF, and bring greater visibility for the work that we and our
grantees are doing.
2009
Grants:
The Paul
and Jean Harris Home Foundation is seeking to preserve the home, once
owned by Paul Harris, for use by Rotarians and to archive physical
history into the future. This small grant will help PJHHF to gain more
acceptance and contributions from others.

The Paul
Harris Memorial Walkway preserves a lasting memorial to Paul Harris and
Silvester Schiele and reminds all who visit of the dream realized by
these two men.
