RGHF INSTITUTEThe celebration of the 10th anniversary of RGHF will also be the launching pad for the first RGHF Institute. The purpose of the Institute is to find a handful of Rotarians who will dedicate their lives to history, so that thousands more might dedicate their lives to Rotary. The Board has approved the tentative following locations for the next few years.

Future locations will be proposed by RGHF Institute Alumni, pending successful presentations and approval by the RGHF board:

 

10/10/10 See the room where Rotary began: "Room 711," visit Paul Harris' office, grave, and home. Learn about the Chicago archives and visit the RI archives. Tour RI headquarters lunch with senior RI officials. Dinner at the Sears Tower (Willis), lunch with Chicago Rotarians; meet the grand daughter of Harry Ruggles the fifth Rotarian, attend a tea for Women and Rotary... Meet a Rotarian who knew many of the founders of Rotary. By Tuesday night, you'll be on your way to a life teaching Rotary's Global History.

Attendees will receive brochures with key talking points; thereby, enabling them to convey the history of Rotary to others.

SUNDAY-OCTOBER 10
6:00-9:00 PM Welcome Reception and Dinner at the Union League Club
 
The Union League Club, where we will be staying while in Chicago. It is the meeting headquarters of the Rotary Club of Chicago. We will celebrate with a dinner on Monday 11 October, then join ROTARY/One for at their Tuesday luncheon.
MONDAY-OCTOBER 11
8:30 Depart for Rotary International Headquarters in Evanston by chartered bus van. First a stop at the offices of the Rotary International Archives, with the archivist as our host.

Next we'll meet with RI officials, see Room 711, Board Room, etc., followed by lunch, featuring our RI president (when we started this work), RIP 00/01 Frank Devlyn, Mexico (each attendee buys their own lunch) at Rotary International headquarters. Cost of Bus will be provided as a history service of RGHF for the benefit of our members and guests. (photos below)

VISIT Paul Harris and Silvester Schiele's grave sites and tour Comely Bank, Paul & Jean Harris' home, by chartered bus. (see photos below)

12:00 Noon-Rotary Club of Chicago Luncheon-
 A special luncheon meeting with the members of the Rotary Club of Chicago. With time for shopping and Chicago sights after lunch.
He shook hands with Paul Harris. Come to Chicago to meet "Titch" Harrison. Read his many contributions to RGHF here.

2:00 PM RGHF Institute Fellows meeting. All attendees are welcome. RGHF Members, in good standing will receive bids on future venues and recommend future events.
